Conclave 2015 Recap

Section NE-2A hosted its centennial conclave on June 19 through the 21st at the beautiful camp June Norcross Webster Scout Reservation, where Tschitani Lodge served as the service lodge for the weekend. The theme was quite long in name, but was used to show progression through the weekend: “From the Island to the Summit, the Legacy Lives On”. The theme was selected based upon the location of the founding of the Order of the Arrow, Treasure Island, and the progression since its founding to the most recent of notable events, our rededication at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve. In the planning of the theme, the concept of acknowledging the past as well as showing the impact it would have as we move forward into our second century of service.

After lodges settled into their campsites, the lodges came together at the waterfront for a luau with assorted activities, cracker-barrel with themed food, the opportunity to meet out-of-section guests who were also in attendance. These special guests included the 2015 National Chief Alex Call, 2015 Northeast Region Chief Matt Bell, and 2015-2016 Section NE-6A Chief Zach Sager.

Saturday morning was filled with the Conclave University training program. The program was broken down into 4 tracks, with a total of 28 sessions offered, based upon what the participants’ involvement in their chapter and or lodge. A variety of training sessions were offered within each track for Arrowmen to customize their experience and make it the most beneficial. This year marked the third year of the Conclave University program as well as the introduction of the Master’s degree, the highest recognition available for participation in the training program.
